Me : Excuse me.

Petugas : Yes?

Me : I want to send this parcel, please.

Petugas : Do you want to send it by letter .post or parcel post? It'd be three rupees fifty paise1 by letter post, and two rupees twenty-five paise by parcel post.

Me : You'd better send it by letter post. It might be quicker.

Petugas : All right. Anything else I can do for you?

Me : Yes. Could you weigh this letter, please?

Petugas : It's just over twenty grams. It'll cost you one rupee forty paise. Here're the stamps for the parcel and the letter. Will you affix them, please?

Me : I also want twenty inland letter sheets and ten stamped envelopes.

Petugas : By all means. But wait a minute, please. Let me first give you the receipt for the parcel. Here's the receipt. And here's the postal stationery.

Me : Thank you very much. Can I leave the parcel there on the desk in front of you? Petugas : Yes. But put the letter in the box over there.

Me : Oh, yes. you very much.

Yunita: Hei Winda. What are you doing sist?

Winda: Oh…Yunita. I just read some books.

Yunita: How often do you go to the library, Winda?

Winda: Wait… I remember first. How about you?

Yunita: Actuallnya I rarely visit the library, you?

Winda: I visit the library at least three times a week.

Yunita: Wow! Nice habits! Why do you often visit the library, Win?

Winda: Basically, I like reading very much and I think. Reading is one way to open our mind.

Yunita: What kind of book do you like to read?

Winda: I like comedy book very much. I usually read it in the afternoon and in the evening after studying.

Yunita: Why do you like to read comedy?

Winda: First, I love comedy and I want to refresh my mind plus improving my reading ability. Do you like reading comedy too?

Yunita: Yes, I do, but I don’t have much time to read because I have to help my parents.

Winda: Good boy! How about you? I mean, what kind of book do you like to read?

Yunita: I like English book. In my opinion English book is the best way to learn English. However, I can’t speak English fluently now. But, read an English book means I’m trying to speak English everywhere.

Winda: Yes, I do agree with you. That’s why we are speaking English.

Yunita: I think I have to go to my class now. See you after school.

Winda: See you.

Ani and his little daughter, Cindy is going to a traditional market.

Cindy : Mom, Why don’t we go to a supermarket? Supermarket sells vegetables and fruits too, right?

Ani : Sure, my love. But traditional market is much more complete and cheaper than supermarket.

Cindy : But it’s hot, smelly, muddy, and dirty in here.

Ani : This is what is called the real shopping my daughter. When I was at your age, I always came with your Grandma to go shopping here.

Cindy : Wowww!!! Really?

Ani : Of course. Now, let’s go to green-grocery first.

Cindy : Okay, Let’s go!

At green-grocery stall

Seller : Hey, Ani…good morning. Do you need something to buy?

Ani : I need a kilo cabbage, half a kilogram of chili and potatoes. Do you have?

Seller : Absolutely.Wait a minute. Here you are ani. Do you need anything else?

Ani : I think that’s all

Cindy : Ani, Don’t you want to buy meat?

Ani : Oh…thanks my love. Btw, I need tenderloin. Do you have it?

Seller : Sure!

Ani : Is every meat sold here really fresh?

Seller : Of course! I always sell fresh meats that I get directly from ‘penjagal’ every single morning.

Ani : How much all?

Seller : These all cost Rp. 150,000. But, I will give you 5 thousand rupiahs for a discount.

Ani : Oo…thank you very much. Here is 150 thousand rupiahs.

Seller : Here is your change. Thank's and come again!

Ani : You’re welcome.

Mekar : Hello, good afternoon, Sir. (Halo, selamat siang Pak).

Mr. Xi : Hello, good afternoon. (Halo, selamat siang).

Mekar : May I talk with u for a while, Sir? (Bolehkah saya berbicara sebentar dengan anda Pak?).

Mr. Xi : Yes, of course. (Ya, tentu saja).

Mekar : My name is Mekar. What is your name, Sir? (Nama saya Mekar. Siapa nama anda Pak?).

Mr. Xi : Hi Mekar, my name is Xi. (Hi Mekar, nama saya Xi).

Mekar : Where are you from Mr. Xi? (Darimana anda berasal Pak Xi?).

Mr. Xi : I am from New York, America. (Saya berasal dari New York, Amerika).

Mekar : Wow, so far away from here. How long have you been here Mr. Xi?(Wow, sangat jauh dari sini. Sudah berapa lama anda berada disini Pak Xi?).

Mr. Xi : I have been here for three days. This is my second time in Bali.(Saya sudah berada di sini selama tiga hari. Ini adalah kedua kalinya sayaberada di Bali).

Mekar : Is this your first time to visit Garuda Wisnu Kencana Mr. Xi? (Apakah ini pertama kalinya anda mengunjungi Garuda Wisnu Kencana Pak Xi?).

Mr. Xi : Yeah, this is my first time to visit this place. I really want to come here. (Ya, ini adalah pertama kali saya mengunjungi tempat ini. Saya sangat ingin datang kemari).

Mekar : So, what do you think about this place Mr. Xi? (Jadi, apa yang anda pikirkan tentang tempat ini Pak Xi?).

Mr. Xi : I think this place is very interesting. I was amazed by the statue. (Saya pikir tempat ini sangat menarik. Saya kagum dengan patungnya).

Mekar : Yes, It is so high. Most of the visitors are amazed by the statue. (Ya, patungnya begitu tinggi. Kebanyakan pengunjung kagum dengan patungnya).

Mr. Xi : Do you know how high it is? (Apakah kamu tahu seberapa tingginya?).

Mekar : Yes, it is about 23 meters. (Ya, tingginya sekitar 23 meter).

Mr. Xi : Really? That’s awesome! What is the name of the statue? (Benarkah? Betapa mengagumkan! Apakah nama patung tersebut?).

Mekar : We called it Lord Wisnu. (Kami menyebutnya Dewa Wisnu).

Mr. Xi: Oh, I see. So it symbolizes the God. (Oh, begitu. Jadi patungnya menyimbolkanTuhan)

Mekar : Yes, Mr. Xi. By the way, thanks for your time. (Ya, Pak Xi.Ngomong-ngomong, terima kasih atas waktunya).

Mr. Xi : Yes, thanks for your additional information about this place. (Ya, terima kasih atas informasi tambahanmu mengenai tempat ini).

Mekar : Nice to meet you Mr. Xi. (Senang bertemu denganmu Pak Xi).

Mr. Xi : Nice to meet you too Mekar. (Senang bertemu denganmu juga Mekar).
